Miniature bronze figure of Amida Buddha from the Kamakura period. Standing on a lotus pedestal, despite his small size, Amida is carved with such precision that the facial features, his hands and the foldings of the robe are quite lifelike and detailed. His hair forms the ushnisha and he has an urna between the eyes, on the front. Right hand is in abhaya mudra (gesture of protection, dispelling fear), left hand is in varada mudra (gesture of compassion and generosity).
