Oil painting of a Sephardic rabbi on a wooden panel from the 17th century.
The rabbi wears a distinctive turban on his head, a cloak on his body and his left hand rests on the top of a book. His face seems to reflect sadness, his eyes looking downwards. A crack runs down the centre of the oil painting, showing where the wooden panel was joined. The work was made by a Rembrandt follower.
