Spanish colonial silver bowl from the 17 – 18th century. 27 cm wavy rimmed cast bowl, subsequently embossed, with an unknown aristocratic family crest in the centre. The main motifs of the coat of arms are the canted crosses, the many coins, the castle tower and the wooded area, surmounted by a crown. The crown has 4 arches and a central gem-setting slot, which is identical in character to the crown of the Kingdom of Aragon. The simplicity and workmanship of the silver bowl attest to its colonial origin.
Symbolism:
The castle tower symbolizes strength, nobility and security, the crosses symbolize religion and Christianity, and the tree also symbolizes strength and endurance. The amount of coins represents the wealth and status of the family.
