Gilt-Copper Gothic Chalice

Germany, 15th century

Dimensions: 12.5 cm

Gilt-copper chalice from the Middle Ages. The chalice has a simple and clean exterior, with a round base and a hexagonal stem that turns into a slender handle. The nodus has a twisted pattern. The upper part of the chalice widens to the size of a wine glass, with no design or motif on the rim. The gilding is only worn in a few places. The bottom of the cup is open.
