A coconut cup made of gilded red copper from 17th-century Germany.
The cup features a gilded, richly decorated lid that can be opened, with spherical elements (spiral-shaped from the side) along the edge of the lid. The handle is large and wide. The body of the object is formed from a coconut, which is tightly fitted with a crafted and finely chased base. The patterns appearing across the entire surface of the object were created in the Baroque style, with recurring motifs of vines and flowers.
