Antwerp School, Early 16th Century

An oil painting on panel depicting a biblical scene from the Antwerp School at the beginning of the 16th century. Jesus is dressed in a white robe with a vivid red cloak and wears a large black hat. In contrast, the Samaritan woman is depicted in soft pink and yellow garments.
The setting is idyllic, featuring rolling hills in the background and a large tree trunk on the hillside. The painting reflects a popular religious theme. Visible cracks in the wood panel are present, but the artwork remains in well-preserved condition.
Probably from the collection of Edward Cederlund (1825–1909), Stockholm, no. 34 (according to an inscription on the frame).
Probably owned by District Chief Knut Tillberg (1860–1940) (according to an inscription on the frame).
